Preface

Dear Reader,

If you’ve read my first book (which is the second book in this series—yes, that was on purpose)—you may remember my fondness of maps. I’m still greatly fond of them and encourage you to use one with this book.

However, before reading, you need to know something about this book. Like the first book (again, book two in this series), the first chapter may seem a bit slow. Unlike the previous book, you’ll notice that this “slowness” is not due to what some have referred to in the previous book as “tiresome dialogue.” No, but the “slowness” you may sense in this book’s first chapter will have more to do with the descriptions and historical accounts of some of the characters.

Nonetheless, just as in the previous book it was important to hear the “tiresome dialogue” (in order to understand the characters better and so more appreciate their actions throughout the story), so in this book, it’s necessary—and good—to hear about the history and personalities of the beginning characters.
